Foods that prevent and help with coronary heart diseases By Xing Zhang LA.c


Low in chromium and low in manganese in the system is one of the main causes of atherosclerosis. Foods that contain high level of chromium and manganese are raw sugars, brown rice, wheats, soy beans, carrots, eggplants, naba cabbages, hyacinth beans.


Low in magnesium would excite myocardial muscles which could lead to arrhythmia. Foods that contain high level of magnesiums are peanuts, walnuts, milk, green leafy vegetables, meat, fish and seafood.


Iodine can prevent lipid from clogging onto artery walls. Food with high levels of iodines are edible seaweeds.


Zinc can inhibit cadmium from damaging cardiac muscles. Foods that contain high level of zinc are grains, beans, nuts, seafood and teas.


Vitamin C increases the elasticity of blood vessels. Foods that contain high level of vitamin C are grean leafy vegetables, fruits like kiwi, pear, dates, hawthorns and tangerines.


Vitamin B6 can lower blood lipid. Foods that contain high level of B6 are great leafy vegetables, pig livers, yeast, meat, fish, eggs, milks, beans and peanuts.



And foods that prevent and help with coronary heart diseases are: scallion, garlic, Chinese leek, long stem chives, ginger, carrot, corn oil, peanuts, sunflower seeds, buckwheat, dates, beans, wood-ears, flame jellyfish, seaweed, freshwater carp, coconut, bananas, hawthorn, vinegar, honey, and lotus seed.
